Clock Gone Haywire

I felt that I awoke much too late when I looked at the alarm clock this afternoon. It read 6:15p.m. I apparently slept 16 hours straight and missed out on the sunshine. The roommate was already up. I went straight into the shower, got dressed and told him that I was going out for groceries to prepare something for dinner later.

I stepped out into a pretty desolate early evening. It was cool and somewhat humid out despite it not appearing as having rained earlier that day. What was weird was the overall absence of traffic and people.

Around the time I got to the busier avenue was when I began to see more people, the majority of which had for some reason or another decided to drink coffee. This was so much so that I decided on a cup myself.

When I arrived at Blockbuster, it was closed. I thought that was weird. Was today a nationally observed holiday I may have forgotten? I dismissed it.

When I got to the grocery store, it was closed. Now, I was confused and thinking "WTF?"

Then I heard two people greet on the sidewalk and bid each other "good morning."

Several things dawned (emphasis on dawn) on me at that very moment:

1. Oh no. It was 6:45 am in the freaking morning.

2. I'd only slept for about 4hrs but woke up convinced that I had over luxuriated in my bed for much too long.

3. This one hasn't gone to bed. Damned X-Box...

4. He didn't stop and call me crazy for going out to buy dinner stuff at the crack of dawn.

5. What was he thinking?

6. I now had 16 ounces of coffee fueling my insides.

7. Damn It! Why didn't I go with the small macchiato?

8. My inner clock has gone haywire.
