God has been texting me for sometime. I do not mean in the literal sense unless you consider Sandman’s realm and actual reality. However, I am having recurring dreams where I receive a text message from God. There is only one message I can ever remember. Don’t Wait, Save Yourself. Le mot juste, how profound and utterly mystical of him to send such a vague and open for interpretation of a message.
I usually have these dreams right before I wake so I tend to always remember them. It results in an idée fixe of sorts, a full morning spent submerged in the possible meaning of this four word conundrum. Any Christian will think that I am to immediately accept Jesus Christ as my Lord and savior. Freudian & Jungians will probably have me tapping into memories I left hidden in my subconscious for good reason. Sufi mystics probably get hard-ons at the thought of being presented with the ability to philosophize such questions ex parte. I on the other hand, just rather skip the whole mysterious ambiguity of it all. I mean I am sure that it worked during the times of Moses but we have the internet now. If any of us were to mention a “flaming bush” nowadays, we might end up in jail, be offered penicillin, or asked where to score a tab of acid.
Anyways, please forgive me I have a knack for going off on tangents when speaking of these things.
I was left with the open question of what in the world did the Alpha & Omega mean by “Don’t wait, Save Yourself”? Surely the climate changes due to global warming are not the Armageddon of The Book of Revelations.
I looked deep and hard. I think I found the answer. I think it is time for a new me or rather, the part of me that’s always been there, the sine qua non that is Yusef. But I have subdued that part for many reasons, few of which are my own.
I’m tired of waiting for life to happen. Getting here was a difficult task but now that I have arrived, things are clearer and paving the road towards the salvation of a new tomorrow has never seemed easier.
The rest of my life begins now…
to me, divine messages are just wake up calls to wrest the divinity within from dormancy.
if the "new you" is anything like the you that we're privy to on this site, then we're indeed in for something divine.
