I finished reading this book today. I was alright. It won the Nobel Prize for literature in 1926. My favorite aspect of the work was its very tragic nature. It was Catholic martyr suffrage at its finest, set in Sardinia prior to the introduction of the divorce law. My favorite character was Constantino, who never abandoned his love for his (ex) wife or the hopes of reuniting with her someday. Giovanna, the wife, was the opposite. She was quick to abandon her love and settled for the first safe thing to come along, while hiding behind the pretenses of that I-am-a-strong-no-need-to-look-back-woman crap. She never came around to love her new man the way she did Constantino which just resulted in a long battle of frustration, self imposed exile of the heart, and a countdown of wasted years that eventually led to the inevitable tragic ending of the book.

Hey Yusef, how are you? Perhaps you can help me out I am under the impression you are an advid reader. I admire that quality. Would you be able to share with me how you became a book lover. As my goal is to become a better reader. Without sugar coating the issue, I hate to read unless I find the topic to be of interest.
Thanks,
Very good book; I read it like 5 years ago. I ws aware it won Nobel Prize for literature in 1926.
Richie just read books you enjoy not the books you think you should be seen reading. Stick to your topics of interest.
Thanks for the advice, Yusef. I will definitely try to pick up a book of interest. Is their a book perhaps that you could recommend, that would change my outlook on reading? And by the way, I really do enjoy viewing your site. Keep up the Great Work! I feel as though your site enables me to be in tune with the N.E. Since I do not reside there at this time Thanks.
