I began waiting tables on some nights now. So I have to dress up a bit every now and then. I thought I looked cute in my ridiculously priced Prada frames and cashmere sweater, until the East European girl at work told me in a heavy accent that I looked “gay today.” She burst my fucking bubble. I wanted to go home and change.
Other then that the day was slow, money was made, faces were missed and dreams were dreamt.

You thought you looked good. Two other girls at your job thought you looked good...and one person thought you looked gay (whatever the hell that means)...Unless I have been severely misreading this blog, you are gay so it should come as no surprise that every once in awhile you might look it.
What's the big deal? Is there something wrong with looking like exactly what you are? And why should one person's opion of you mean more than your opinion of yourself or other people you work with. I doubt there is a single outfit you could put together that every person in the world would like or respond positively to....
But that's just me...
Everyone's a critic, but take it in stride. For every 1 hater there are 2 more people who think highly of you. You should have called the bitch out on her flaws. Did she have bushy eyebrows? A bad perm? A lisp? Body odor?
so yeah, "looking gay" probably shouldn't be received as such an insult, but i have to admit that i've had the experience before and, like you, i just wanted to change my clothes so bad. this is really fucked up, no?
