"The Gates"

I was eight years old and the year was 1982. My brother and I, were in the back seat of a ’75 Plymouth glued to the windows awe struck at the view. Beyond, laid Miami’s Biscayne Bay with its islands surrounded by giant pink synthetic pink floating boarders. Now almost 22 years later I am once again fortunate enough to be in a city altered by Christo and Jeanne-Claude’s landscape altering works of art.
Twenty-three miles of Central Park’s trails are lined with saffron colored arches, each one a representation of Zen. It took the artists 26 years and several administrations before finally receiving the needed permit for their larger-than-life contemporary masterpieces. It is a truly amazing spectacle that every New Yorker should experience. Another wise cold and grey park has been graced by 7,500 gates to Zen.

The exhibit ( The Gates) will run till the 27th of February.
